taking BART

the bay bridge had to close the day of opening night for the Warriors and Halloween weekend which must've sucked for a lot of people who commute to and from the east bay. i normally would've worn heels of some sort but since we took BART to the game, I figured it would consist of a lot of walking, which in reality was actually really close to the arena so there goes that.. another thing that sucked was not having a point and shoot camera- i need to get another one ASAP. oh but on a happier note, this was the very first sign i've made to a game. :) I really do heart stephen curry. sorry monta, but you've been replaced.

this year for halloween i decided to be DJ Lance Rock of the childrens tv show Yo Gabba Gabba. Initially i felt very clever for coming up with this idea but as I mentioned to people what I was dressing up as, I realized, unless you have a toddler like maverick who dances to this show non-stop, I was going to be one of those- what the hell are you?- and it definitely isn't the most attractive costume before i altered it, but i still didn't care :) to my surprise there were a bunch of people who recognized what i was which made it well worth it.

i purchased the male adult costume and my seamstress was able to hooch it up making the oversized longsleeve a crop top and the jogging pants into biker shorts. the boombox i got from an estate sale for $10 and just glued colored hologram and felt paper to design it like the actual one.

and luckily halloween fell on a weekend, giving the opportunity to dress up as multiple costumes. friday night i was a girl scout. i scored on an actual retro uniform from the salvation army for only $6 and purchased the real cookies months ago and have been saving it for this. i would've had the whole variety of boxes but my niece ate them and couldn't resist- they're actually really good.

i'll post more photo's as i collect them from everyones cameras.. hope everyone had a fun and safe halloween! xo.

new & old

i love san francisco. this city has so much to offer, even after 25 years of living in the bay there are the same old things you get bored of but no matter what i always find something new and different to experience. i guess you can apply this idea to your wardrobe since i often wear the same things but try and mix it up with different articles to get various looks. that's why i love going thrift shopping because i always seem to find something unique and it forces you to become creative. And I love incorporating old and new, cheap and expensive, and putting it all together and making it work.

f21 skirt/dress, steve madden heels, h&m beanie

like this dress which is actually a skirt.. i love playing with proportions and buying things a size bigger to make it into something else and vice versa.. oh and i know i've worn these shoes a gazillion times but they're super comfy and like the pearls they're just a staple in a lot of things i wear and like.

and even though i love my car, i still want an old vintage mercedes convertible... something like a weekend getaway ride to cruise in.. maybe it has to do with fond memories of when my parents would drive around those classic mercedes when i was a little girl in the 80's but these things rock.

i used to frequent this street more in high school and my college days and forgot what a neat spot it is to get your halloween gear and accessories. i planned on being a clown on one of the days for halloween weekend but my failed attempt wasn't as cute as i imagined it to be. and speaking of cute, my hair is getting a little too long for my liking and i haven't gotten a hair cut in years.. contemplating on a new do since i think i'm over the bangs.. normally i'd dye it darker in the winter but i'm loving my lightened locks that i just may keep it for a bit longer.. we'll see :)
