umami, sf

We ate at Umami, another hip sushi house/bar on Webster & Union in the Marina.

Miso Soup & Dragon Roll

I once again ordered my "Nikki Meal" however what made this fun spot different from all the other places I've eaten at was the drink I ordered- a HELLO KITTY- a watermelon concoction. How fun is that?

Check the menu

hello kitty

We then ordered a cookie dough dessert that's filled with vanilla ice cream that's designed just like a sushi dish.

Who would ever think to find the name Hello Kitty on the receipt at a restaurant? Too cool.

The strangest thing, I just got my feet done when I was in Rosa, and check the design I got on my toes- a watermelon.. Haha I know cheesy or rather yummy I should say. Either way, my big toe feels like braille with all the black rhinestones that's supposed to be watermelon seeds. Fun, Fun, Fun.

Anyhow, Happy Birthday Joanna! :)

instead of sulking for another unnecessary holiday that was created for hallmark and those that needed a specific day to express their love, i chose to join the bandwagon and celebrated valentines day. :)

and although this date can be a nightmare for many singles only reminding them the absence of a romantic relationship in their lives, i figured the relationship i wanted to commemorate was one with myself, mav, and close friends.

which is exactly what i did. i woke up and worked the fuck out. i ate lunch with tomiko and her man at one of my favorite restaurants Thai BBQ in south city- the Pad Thai is off the hook. And just when I thought the rest of  my day would be lonely till the evening, it was filled with tons of company and good laughs. I then headed out for dinner and ate at Naked Fish, a sushi house & lounge in the marina in sf and had a swell time. I ordered a "Nikki Meal" which consists of a dragon roll, miso soup, tea, & ice water- I swear I'm always on the hunt for the best dragon roll and this one is not bad at all.

Valentine's Day is seen as this holiday to make those without one feel depressed for the lack of someone special to celebrate with. But if you look around you'll see that it is not only for lovers but for those like myself to enjoy as well.

i ate at one of my favorite chinese restaurants, San Tung, located on Irving St. in San Francisco.

once you enter this busy spot and squeeze your way in to write your name on the board and the number of guests in your party, you can join the rest of the crowd patiently waiting as they overflow outside the restaurant.

the service is great and the food arrives quickly, so it makes up for the wait that can feel extremely long, especially when you're hungry. but it's definitely worth your while and since every table seems to be there for the dry fried chicken wings and string beans you really can't go wrong with this order.

and after i eat chinese food i enjoy something sweet so we went to Genki, a fun asian snack central that offers crepes, tapioca, milkballs and goodies that range from candies to beauty items.

i usually get a thai tea milkball and pocky but i felt pretty daring and opted for the thai coffee milkball instead with a nutella and almond crepe making it the perfect selection to satisfy my palette. Afterall, anyone who knows me, knows i always end my meals with a dessert.

Imagine a way to enjoy Lake Tahoe with all your friends and not worry about who's driving, what car to take, gas fade, laggers, putting on chains, removing off chains, parking far away from the lodge and carrying all your gear up, wouldn't that be sweet?

Well, if you hop on the Bay Area Ski Bus, you can relax and leave all the worrying to them!
They take care of the driving so no one has to drive at the crack of dawn and you can sleep on the way up for extra energy for the slopes or veg out and watch movies on the way back after a long day! It's the perfect way to do a day trip and I highly recommend it.
  • Convenient
  • Cheap
  • Safe, Reliable
  • FUN- for everyone!
My favorite plus is that they provide breakfast, drinks, snacks, and hot chocolate and cookies! :) It couldn't get any better than this! Oh, well, the only downside is that you have to drop off other people at their location, but if you're coming from SF, the only stop is in Oakland.
