I celebrated the 4th of July in Lake Tahoe; and the weekend consisted of the following: Soccer matches and World Cup viewings, boat rides and Chambers Landing Bar, wake boarding and tubing, BBQ's and fresh farmers market foods, board games like Settlers of Catan, breakfasts at Tahoe House Bakery, and fireworks along the pier. It's definitely my favorite holiday weekend I've spent up here so far.

Sadly, I didn't get to hit the slopes on this trip to Tahoe but make no mistake, I still played in the snow. It was just as much fun as the time we came up last summer, but the only difference was rolling eighteen deep. Spending a long weekend with good company, delicious home cooked meals, board games, book readings by the fire and drinking games inside a beautiful lake house are the perfect kind of way to nest in the winter. Not to mention-- hiking in the woods, building snowmen and making snow angels were all new outdoor experiences that I really enjoyed. Even a few crazy friends entertained us by jumping in the ice cold lake. I recorded a few clips on Vine so if you have the app you can view it there. First time I visited Lake Tahoe in the summer and have to say it beats the winter season for sure. Don't get me wrong I love to snowboard but there are so many more things you could do when the weather is warm and we took full advantage of our time there. We spent every single day by the lake, on the boat or at Chambers Landing Bar- a very cool spot to drink, eat and hang out by the water. Lots of people, good food and infamous punch that all guarantee a good time.

The house we stayed at was right by the lake so it was nice to have access to all our activities. We ate at Sunnyside and River Grill for our dinners and had breakfast burritos from Tahoe House Bakery & Gourmet-- all restaurants and food places I'd recommend to try.

I attempted to wake board but that didn't quite happen. It's a lot harder than it looks but at least the water wasn't as cold as I expected it to be.  I had difficulty getting up but give myself A for effort for trying. Paddle boarding was more my speed so I really got to enjoy that instead.

We went for a hike near a trail by our place that led us to an amazing view of the whole lake, we played board games, watched  movies and stayed by the hot tub after the sun went down. It was a very relaxing and adventurous weekend and the perfect way to spend the last few days of summer.
