Award Tour
On Sunday we went up for a hike to the Tourist Club located inside Muir Woods, about a 30 minute drive up north from San Francisco. Took the Dipsea Trail that lead us up Mount Tamalpais, overlooking breathtaking views, through the redwood trees into this big German beer house filled with people drinking, playing board games all in the middle of the woods that had a similar feel to the Elysium from Wanderlust. After miles of walking aimlessly, it really was a treat to arrive to this point and relax with good company. My lululemon gear didn't really cut it for "cool" hiking attire but I am in the market for some hiking boots and I would've worn shorts but my fear of being attacked by bugs always forces me to wear pants. The idea of hiking to booze sounded pretty neat and I'd definitely recommend to go here for a good workout. Just bring snacks and be prepared for some serious steps to climb--- my legs were shaking after we were done and my bum is still sore.
Hair care
I've been a loyal Pureology user for so many years but since I no longer have blonde hair, highlights or long locks, I made a switch to Kiehl's and have no intention of going back. After cutting my hair, I have enjoyed every second of it and love the combination with one all over color. It's easier to maintain and the roots are less noticeable. I currently go to Di Pietro Todd in the Fillmore for all my hair needs. The price is a little bit steep compared to what I used to pay but it's worth every penny and is somewhere I can trust no matter what. Before I used to see Mola Raxakoul who did an amazing job with my hair extensions. It's nice to have that option if I ever miss my long hair but that is probably not happening in the near future. Sunshine Duong was my long time colorist so if you're in the Mountain View area she is your go-to girl. I consider her a master at blonde hair for Asians and always loved that my hair never came out brassy. Lately, I've only been wearing my hair straight but it's also the perfect length to put up in a ponytail so occasionally I'll do that. I invested in a good blow dryer to get the job done much quicker and for loose waves I still love my old Hot Tools iron. Spray on some Bedhead hairspray to keep the curls from falling flat and I'm in business.
Don't stop me now
Celine sunglasses, bag, H&M dress, hair tie, Cole Haan flats, Urban Outfitters necklace
I'm not huge on flats but these are so chic and comfortable I could live in them. I've been biking everywhere I go and look pretty interesting carrying my basket into restaurants. Been wanting to photograph these sunglasses too so there you go. And I've got another exciting weekend in store so stay tuned for my future blog posts. You can also follow me along via instagram @hellonikki if you want to catch me in action. Happy Friday!
