Behold, a Pale Horse

by Nikki Cornell

In case you are wondering what it looks like to ride horses down the mountains, through the valleys, to the beach (while the sun sets!!), into the water, under the full moon with the best girlfriends one can have -- this is it. Solid combination.

PARADISE IN PROVIDENCIA

Falling in love with Providencia, also known as an UNESCO biosphere, was one of the highlights of our entire trip. The island is tiny and colorful and creole, only has a population of 4,000, and it's surrounded by the third largest barrier reef in the world. We stayed at the El Monasterio del Viento, which is quite possibly the most magnificent property there -- the room rate also comes with a personal chef! It sits right in front of Crab Cay and you can swim, snorkel, or kayak in the "Sea of Seven Colors"! I am convinced this is hands down the best coastal paradise in Colombia.

Colorful Cartagena

Cartagena is such a vibrant city! There is so much to do, we wish we had more time in our trip to explore. Between all the plazas, cathedrals, cafes, and castles - you can easily fill up the days just wandering around this old historic town. We stayed in this epic apartment listed on Airbnb and started our first night catching the sunset over pina coladas and mojitos at Cafe Del Mar. After, we had dinner at Don Juan (that happened to be perfectly located next to our place), followed by more drinks and dancing at the sister restaurante Maria (also next door). This restaurant has the cutest decor. But all the colonial architecture in Cartagena - the massive doors that are accompanied by baby doors, elaborate knockers, overhanging balconies, patios - make this city so charming! If you are thinking of visiting, do not hesitate - go now! This was by far my favorite city in all of Colombia.

Here's what we did on our last day in Cartagena: We had breakfast at Crepes & Waffles, walked around the Walled City, had lunch at Restaurante Maria, climbed Castillo San Felipe De Barajas,  had dinner at La Vitrola, went dancing at Cafe Havana and had a late night dip at this amazing castle/villa you can rent!

It was a perfect fun-filled day to end a very memorable vacation! Looking forward to our next Amigamoon trip this year!
