dig it?
we continued our journey with our super cool rental and visited lanikai and sandy's- both are breathtaking beaches with different vibes to offer.
lanikai is known for it's clear sparkling waters, powdered sand and the view of the twin Mokumanu and Mokulua islands, making this spot a postcard perfect beach.
sandy beach is as gorgeous, however, it's beauty lies within high tides and strong rip currents making it a popular spot for experienced swimmers, body surfers, boogie boarders or anyone entertained by the massive waves crashing on the shore. It's a great gathering place for the younger local crowd but attracts families and tourists as well.
anyhow, while i was at both places, i noticed the fascination and love children tend to have to dig holes in the sand or build an elaborate sand castle where a mote allows the water to enter and spice up their creation.
check out the size of the hole this kid spent all day digging. i was so amazed i asked if i could climb into it, i couldn't resist the opportunity! :) and it's definitely a lot deeper than what it looked on the surface!
kailua beach
(top- target, bottom- billabong, hat- matsumoto's, beach bag- LV speedy 30)
i love this beach.
this is most probably my most favorite beach in oahu. next time around, i will definitely try the paddle boarding.
waikiki
(top- target, bottom-old navy, hat- bcbg, hello kitty necklace- sanrio, nail art- modern nails)my musts to take to the beach:
- my iPod w/ my Hello Kitty rhinestone earphones
- a Book & a pencil to underline (Currently reading A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson)
- an Iced Coffee w/ soy milk & 3 splendas- try it! :)
- my new Sunglasses
- my iPhone
- my 88 tees Beach Towel
- Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Body Mist Sunblock- spf 45+
the top was meant to tie around the neck, however, i wrapped it around several times in the center to create a bow. the fedora hat was very useful in blocking the sun. and i know my feet aren't the most flattering feature on my body, but i do have this weird fetish for toe nail designs- but only on the big toe. they do a great job at modern nails in santa rosa. they apply rhinestones and glitter and since i'm not a big fan of acrylic nails (i prefer short & clear on my hands) it's a fun way for me to be daring.
i could lay in the beach all day.. and the rest is history. oh and i love the smell of hawaiian tropic sun tan lotion. :)
